Eminem’s Company Sues Ford Dealer for Using ‘Lose Yourself’ in Commercial

The Ferndale publisher overseeing Eminem’s song catalog has sued a Ford dealership for unauthorized use of the rapper’s hit “Lose Yourself” in a promotional video for a Detroit Lions truck. The lawsuit alleges that LaFontaine Ford St. Clair did not secure a license for the track, which is Eminem’s signature song. Eight Mile Style is seeking an injunction against the video clip and at least $150,000 in damages. This is not the first time the publisher has protected the song from unauthorized use, with previous cases involving Chrysler, Apple, and Audi.
