Despite its chart-topping triumph, Lil Baby dislikes 2022’s It’s Only Me.
Baby revealed in his Complex cover story on Wednesday (January 15) that he released something he didn’t really care about due to pressure from his record company.
“I wasn’t ready to release It’s Only Me,” he remarked. “I was in the wrong mindset. I was making songs, but I didn’t love or enjoy them.” It’s Only Me was Baby’s third consecutive platinum and No. 1 Billboard 200 album.
His latest album, WHAM, topped the Billboard 200 for the week of January 18, ahead of Bad Bunny, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, and Sabrina Carpenter.
The album, which dropped on January 3, features Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, GloRilla, Rod Wave, Rylo, and 21 Savage. Lil Baby is also releasing another album, which he’s calling “serious.”
Baby posted the outstanding WHAM data on Instagram on Sunday (January 12) with the caption, “See yall again in a couple weeks ‘Dominique’ The Album 2-?-25.”
