AP News and The Hollywood Reporter report that Judge Analisa Torres ruled on Thursday, December 26, that Jane Doe, who is suing Jay-Z and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, can pursue her case anonymously and rejected Jay-Z’s request to dismiss the case.
The judge warned that the woman may have to identify herself if the case continues.
Judge Torres also reprimanded Jay-Z and his lawyers for “relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks” on Tony Buzbee, Jane Doe’s attorney.
The accuser, an Alabama woman, sued Combs for raping her at a 2000 VMAs after party. On December 8, she added Jay-Z, also known as Shawn Carter. The rapper instantly refuted the charges as “a blackmail attempt” by Buzbee.
