Trina Explains How Beyoncé Helped Open Door For Female Rappers

Trina graced Beyoncé with flowers for paving the way for the next generation of female rappers, expressing her love for the pop and R&B worlds.

Trina reflected on Queen Bey, telling HipHopDX, “Yeah, Beyoncé. Because she is the number one female rapper when she does rap. There’s no sleeping on the Queen,” Trina said.

“It’s just one of those things; of course, it’s the Queen Beyoncé, but when you hear a song, and it’s rapping involved, it’s like, ‘Oh my God’—it’s more inspiration.”

While some would argue that there are too many similarities with female rap, Trina says of female rap, “It’s just all different kinds of music, and it all sounds different.”
