USA Today Network, Tennessean Appoint Inaugural Beyoncé Reporter

Beginning today, November 13th, multimedia reporter Caché McClay will cover Beyoncé Knowles-Carter for The Tennessean and USA Today Network.

McClay was hired after a nationwide search of hundreds of applicants. Her work will appear in Gannett’s 200+ properties, including The Tennessean and USA Today. The new position on The Tennessean’s award-winning music and entertainment staff in Nashville is part of Gannett’s statewide digital audience expansion.

McClay will cover Beyonce’s complicated economic and entertainment empire, including her $580 million Renaissance World Tour film and new perfume line.

From Cleveland, Ohio, McClay graduated from Howard University in 2017 and worked as a writer and digital producer at Hearst Television, NBC News, and BBC News. Most recently, she handled entertainment news for TMZ LA.

Do you think having a dedicated reporter for Beyoncé will move Queen Bey to sit down for an interview?
