Tyla has over one million Instagram followers after her debut single, “Water,” entered the Billboard Hot 100 and started a viral TikTok dance challenge.

Tyla’s social media data were examined by NetInfluencer, revealing her rapid increase since “Water.”

Since the single’s July 28th release, the 21-year-old artist’s Instagram following has grown 1.5 million. The track’s viral dance challenge picked up 600,000 Instagram and 200,000 TikTok followers in the first month, driving this spike.

Since August, Tyla’s TikTok account, @Tyla_, has gained 3.8 million followers, increasing her expected earnings per post to $11,800. Tyla became the youngest South African musician on the Billboard Hot 100 in over 50 years.
