DJ Envy has finally made a public statement about the Ponzi scheme that he was running and denied any wrong doing Wednesday on “The Breakfast Club” which is also the same platform he was promoting it.
He went on and told listeners that he was openly going against what his legal team was telling him to do for him to defend his name but also claimed that he only embarked on the real estate venture with Cesar Piña to assist with first-time homeowners within his community and not struggle like he did.
He admitted to participating in many seminars disseminating information to potential buyers but however said he had no clue what Cesar was doing with any of the money that their clients were giving them and also admits to losing $500k of his own money.
With all of the controversy it made Envy a target in Hip Hop as Rick Ross and Funk Flex have clowned him publicly and internet personality Tony The Closer also has taken him to task.
Envy then decided to sue Tony for defamation.
Most of the lawsuits have been made against Cesar and his wife with Envy just being the secondary defendant.
After some interviews with NBC 4 New York a lot of the victims claim they were comfortable with the business simply because of Envy’s endorsement.
